Prison scandal video common in late September is installation, Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili stated on Friday at a meeting with students of the Tbilisi State University.
According to him, he was shocked too when saw the footage, but then director George Liponava showed him a specific location, which indicate that the video is mounted. Saakashvili said that Liponava brought him into the studio to three in the morning and showed concrete joints.
"It is easy to see. Liponava showed me a concrete joints. When you look a second time, you see that this is so. But violence was, and these sadists was able to act freely," - Saakashvili said.
Despite this, the president says violence in prisons really was and still continues. Saakashvili admitted that their biggest mistake was that they were not able to clean prisons from such sadists like Lado Bedukadze who shot the footage, and then distributed them.
In mid-September last year, Georgian media posted video footage of mistreatment of prisoners of Gldani prison number 8, which resulted in wave of public protests. Many experts believe that these frames predestined victory of the opposition coalition "Georgian Dream" in the parliamentary elections of October 1.
