Simplification of the visa regime with Russia for the citizens of Georgia will become a reality in the next two to three months, the head of the Georgian Foreign Ministry Maya Pandzhikidze said on Tuesday.
According to her, the talks "are already underway" with Russia on visa facilitation.
Alongside, Pandzhikidze noted that visa-free visits to Georgia will be provided for Russian citizens.
"We have canceled the visas for Russia, but Moscow has not yet made reciprocal steps. They are now taking steps forward through simplification of the visa regime. If this is the case, it will lead to increased transport links as well as additional flights. This helps to strengthen the friendship between our peoples, which is a positive factor in the improvement of the state of bilateral relations," she said.
