UN Security Council issues press statement on the act of terrorism against the Turkish Embassy in Somalia, the counselor of the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the United Nations Samir Sharifov reported.

The members of the Security Council condemned in the strongest terms the terrorist attacks, expressed their sincere condolences to the families of the victims of these heinous acts, and to the Government and people of Turkey and underlined the need to bring perpetrators, organizers, financiers and sponsors of these reprehensible acts of terrorism to justice.

The members of the Security Council reaffirmed that terrorism, in all its forms and manifestations, constitutes one of the most serious threats to international peace and security, and that any acts of terrorism are criminal and unjustifiable, regardless of their motivation, wherever, whenever and by whomsoever committed.

On July 27, a car bomb in the capital of Somalia - Mogadishu - on Saturday rammed the gate of the building, where the Turkish Embassy personnel live. As reported by the local police, the target of a car packed with explosives was the building in which the Turkish Embassy personnel live.
