Political stability needs to be maintained for strengthening and continuing economic achievements in Turkey, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, Anadolu agency reported on Thursday.
"Any unrests and clashes in Turkey directly affect country's economy. Therefore, we must maintain stability," Erdogan said.
According to the Prime Minister, any person in Turkey can defend his rights, but this should be done democratically, not by creating chaos and disorders.
Protests were taking place in Turkey for three weeks from late May. According to the authorities, the protests had anti-government character.
Turkey's opposition parties accused the police of using excessive force against protesters.
As a result of the unrest in Turkey, nearly 4,000 people were injured, 5 died and 4,900 were detained.
