Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmar Mammadyarov received newly appointed ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Azerbaijan Irfan Siddiq.
Azerbaijani Minister congratulated Siddiq on appointment as the ambassador to Azerbaijan and wished him success in his future activities, the Ministry's press service told Trend on Monday.
During the meeting the sides expressed satisfaction with the existing bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and the UK and discussed the latest developments in the Middle East.
The British Ambassador also added that during his diplomatic activity in Azerbaijan he will make efforts for further enhancement of bilateral ties.
