Azerbaijan and EU signed an agreement on visa regime facilitation.
The document was signed within the third Eastern Partnership summit in Vilnius on Friday.
The document was signed by Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov, European Commissioner Stefan Fule and Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkevičius.
The ratification procedures will be held following signing in the Azerbaijani Parliament and the European Parliament as well, Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Mahmud Mamedguliyev told Trend earlier.
Moreover, it is necessary to sign bilateral agreements with the Schengen area member-states, but which are not EU members (Norway, Switzerland, Iceland, Liechtenstein).
According to Mamedguliyev, the agreement will cover a rather extensive list of individuals, including, first of all, citizens going abroad for education and business.
