Akbar Jabbari, the critic of the nuclear deal between Iran and P5+1 was arrested in Tehran on charges of defamation, Afkarnews portal reported on Nov. 30.

It should be noted that Jabbari is the brother-in-law of Iranian ex-president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's close ally, Gholam-Hossein Elham.

Jabbari sharply criticised the new Iran-P5+1 nuclear deal on his Facebook page, calling the agreement as the degradation and humiliation for Iran's administration, the report said.

Earlier on Nov. 24 Iran and six world powers reached a breakthrough deal on Tehran's nuclear program. The two sides have signed a joint "plan of action".

The U.S. and its Western allies suspect Iran of developing a nuclear weapon - something that Iran denies. The Islamic Republic has on numerous occasions stated that it does not seek to develop nuclear weapons, using nuclear energy for medical researches instead.

Some media outlets have also reported that Jabbari has been released shortly after his arrest.
