Baku, Azerbaijan, Jan. 10
By Elchin Mehdiyev - Trend:
The future activity of the National Council will depend on a decision to be taken by the remaining parties, member of the National Council and Chairman of the Open Society Party, Sulheddin Akbar told Trend on Friday.
"Everyone is familiar with the situation and we are looking for ways out of it," he said. "Everyone sees his own way out. Currently, we continue negotiating, discussing the ways out of the situation, assessing it through lateral and multilateral meetings."
The party leader stressed that Musavat's leaving the National Council dealt a heavy blow to the group.
"Musavat is one of the leading opposition parties in Azerbaijan and its leaving the National Council dealt a severe blow to this council, the democratic camp and created a crisis situation," he said. "However, if the right decision is made, any crisis can be an impetus for new development and the beginning of a new period, otherwise this will lead to a collapse."
He said that his party is actively involved in the negotiations.
"We are actively involved in the negotiations and are not hurrying while making the final decision," he said. "We have also informed all sides about our position."
