Ukraine's Yanukovych promises more concessions
Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has promised a government reshuffle, an amnesty for detained protesters and amendments to a series of controversial laws, dpa reported.
The Ukrainian parliament will vote for the changes at a special session Tuesday, Yanukovych told a meeting with religious leaders, news reports said. He said amendments to recent laws would be worked out together with the opposition.
Last week's passing of the laws triggered an escalation of the mass protests.
Yanukovych added that all detained during the recent protests will fall under amnesty except those accused of serious crimes.
