Baku, Azerbaijan, March 28
By Sabina Ahmadova - Trend:
Azerbaijan condemns extremism, radicalism and separatism in all their forms and manifestations, Deputy Permanent Representative of Azerbaijan to the U.N., Tofig Musayev said in his speech during the adoption of a resolution entitled 'Territorial integrity of Ukraine' by the UN General Assembly, the UN information centre reported on March 28.
Azerbaijan voted in favour of this resolution according to Musayev.
He reiterated Azerbaijan's adherence to the fundamental principles of sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability of internationally recognised borders, saying they constituted the basic foundation of international relations and legal order.
The resolution called upon states not to recognise the joining of Crimea to Russia.
By a recorded vote of 100 in favour to 11 against and with 58 abstentions, the Assembly adopted a resolution which underscored the invalidity of the 16 March referendum held in autonomous Crimea.
