The visit of Vatican's Pope Francis to Jordan is of historical significance, Fadi Qwayder, Jordanian Chargé d'Affaires to Azerbaijan, told journalists in Baku.
During his two-day visit (From May 24 to May 25), the Pope will conduct religious rituals and pray in the country, according to Qwayder.
"Jordan is a tolerant country where the representatives of various confessions live together," Jordan's chargé d'affaires said.
He pointed out that the previous heads of the Catholic Church also visited Jordan, adding that Pope Francis will meet with the Jordanian king this time.
Qwayder stressed that over a thousand journalists from various media outlets will cover the Pope's visit to Jordan.
