One of the directions of policy of Azerbaijan has always been the fulfillment of obligations to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), said the chairman of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) of Azerbaijan Oktay Asadov.
Asadov made the remarks on Sept.23 at the meeting with PACE President Anne Brasseur who was on a visit to Baku.
Parliament Speaker said that he holds the 4th meeting with Brasseur over the past 4 months.
"These meetings are very important because they contribute to the development of relations between Azerbaijan and the Council of Europe," Asadov said.
Brasseur noted that the principles of the organization are the main link between the Member States of the Council of Europe.
"All states must comply with these principles," the chairman of the PACE said.
Then the meeting continued behind closed doors.
