Azerbaijan is one of the few real and reliable friends of the US in the Muslim world, said the article by journalist Maayan Jaffe published in the US newspaper, The Hill.
The article said Azerbaijan is the only Muslim-majority country that has been consistent and persistent in its openness to civil values.
Meanwhile, the White House has soured relations with the most important partners of the US, such as Azerbaijan and Israel, both clearly disliked by Iran's mullahs precisely for being America's allies, according to the article.
The author added that the US Administration glosses over these persuasive facts that Azerbaijan is a staunchly secular, Western and progressive state.
Moreover, there is increasing frustration by Azerbaijani leaders at the incessant and unwarranted criticism of Azerbaijan by US administration leaders, Jaffe wrote, adding that such approach is unacceptable.
The current US administration does not understand the seriousness of the problems in the Middle East, Eurasia and surrounding areas, Jaffe believes.
The author added that the administration with Congress's help must take a broader view and identify a bigger strategy to tackle growing problems head on.
