A delegation led by Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev visited on May 12 the Alley of Honors to lay a wreath at the tomb of national leader, founder and architect of modern Azerbaijani state Heydar Aliyev.
He also put flowers at the grave of prominent ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva.
The Russian delegation then visited the Alley of Martyrs to commemorate Azerbaijani heroes who gave their lives for the country's independence and territorial integrity.
Patrushev laid a wreath at the Eternal Flame monument.
Then, the Russian delegation visited the monument of Hero of the Soviet Union, Major-General Hazi Aslanov, laid a wreath at his tomb.
