A guard of honor was lined up for the guest at Heydar Aliyev International Airport decorated with the national flags of the two countries.
President of Vietnam Truong Tan Sang and his spouse Mai Thi Hanh were met at the airport by Azerbaijan's First Deputy Prime Minister Yagub Eyyubov and other officials.
