“Islamic State” terrorist organization members neutralized in Azerbaijan (VIDEO) (UPDATE)

Baku, Azerbaijan, Sept. 2
The ministry of national security of Azerbaijan has neutralized a group of citizens of the country participating in illegal armed groups in Syria and Iraq, as well as in the activities of a terrorist organization "Islamic State" (ISIS), the message of the office of public relations of the ministry said Sept. 2.
Azerbaijani citizens Shirkhan Hasayli, Rovshan Mikayilov, Elshen Adilov, Vugar Hajiyev and Azer Eyyubov have been detained as suspects for the creation of armed formations or groups not provided by the legislation of Azerbaijan, participation in their creation and activity, their supply with weapons, ammunition, explosives, military equipment and other illegal activities as a result of anti-terrorist operations carried out by the national security ministry of Azerbaijan, the message said.
The main investigation department of the national security ministry has initiated criminal cases regarding these facts under articles No.12.1,279.1, 12.3,28,214.2.1, 12.3,28,214.2.3 and 12.1,218.2 as well as article No. 283-1.3 of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan. The detainees have been brought to the investigation as suspects and a preventive measure in the form of arrest was chosen against them by a court decision.
Investigation on the case of Rovshan Mikayilov was completed and sent to Lankaran Court of Grave Crimes. Rovshan Mikayilov was found guilty of all the allegations and sentenced to 13 years in prison, according to the decision of this court of August 25, 2015.
Operational and investigative activities continue on the case of suspects Shirkhan Hasayli, Elshen Adilov, Vugar Hajiyev, Azer Eyyubov, as well as on investigation of all the circumstances of the criminal case and the establishment of other participants of these unlawful actions.
It was established that Hasayli, Mikayilov, Adilov, Hajiyev and Eyyubov in 2013-2015 at various times participated in the activities of illegal armed formations on the territory of the Syrian Arab Republic and the Republic of Iraq, as well as the terrorist organization "Islamic State."
Azerbaijani legislation provides for a sentence of 20 years or life imprisonment for the commission of the above mentioned crimes.
The Azerbaijani national security ministry calls on citizens to be vigilant, according to the message.
