Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has approved the agreement signed between Azerbaijan and Iran for cooperation in the use of water resources and continuation of construction and operation of the Khudaferin and Giz Galasi hydroelectric facilities on the Araz River.
The president also approved the “Framework Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the coordination of railways of Azerbaijan and Iran.”
Both agreements were signed Feb. 23, 2016, in Tehran. The agreements were ratified by the Azerbaijani parliament on June 14.
