Azerbaijan-Russia forum is important platform for relations - Ali Hasanov

The 7th Azerbaijan-Russia interregional forum is an important platform in the two countries’ relations, Ali Hasanov, Azerbaijani presidential aide for public and political affairs, told reporters Nov. 1 in Baku.
Hasanov said that the forum is being held for the seventh time, adding that previously the event was held both in Azerbaijan and Russia.
Every year, about 500 people from the two sides take part in the forum, he noted adding that the current forum is attended by representatives of various districts, regions, including central authorities and ministries.
A wide range of issues of cooperation in the economic, industrial, agricultural, trade and humanitarian spheres, as well as youth policy, relations between NGOs and media are expected to be discussed during the forum, added Ali Hasanov.
He said that there will be reporting speeches about the work carried out during the year in all areas, including the work in connection with the execution of decisions since the last forum.
Proposals on the expansion of interregional relations for the coming year will also be discussed, noted the Azerbaijani top official.
“We believe that in the current state of international relations, regional relations, this forum between Russia and Azerbaijan is very relevant, and meets the interests of the peoples of both countries,” added Hasanov.
He noted also that the relations between Azerbaijan and Russia are expanding and are in the eye of the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, because economic, political, social and cultural relations, as well as relations between the societies are strong enough, and these forums are needed to maintain this intensity.
