Azerbaijan's First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva has met with Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey Binali Yildirim in Baku.

Expressing gratitude to the Turkish prime minister for his speech at the 6th Global Baku Forum, Mehriban Aliyeva stressed that there are exemplary relations of friendship and brotherhood between the countries.

Mehriban Aliyeva added that Azerbaijan respects these relations.

Stressing that Azerbaijan and Turkey support each other in international organizations, Azerbaijan's first vice-president stressed that Azerbaijan and Azerbaijanis always feel and appreciate this support.

She stressed the importance of large-scale projects being implemented on the initiative and with the support of the two countries both for the region and for Europe. Mehriban Aliyeva emphasized that fraternal and friendly relations stand at the heart of the success of these projects.

"Successful relations have been established between our countries in many spheres,” Mehriban Aliyeva said. “These relations are getting stronger day by day. Joint activities will bear fruit in the future.”

The first vice-president expressed gratitude for Turkey's defending Azerbaijan's just position on the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and that Turkey updates the world community about it.

She expressed confidence that the conflict will soon be resolved within Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity on the basis of norms and principles of international law.

Mehriban Aliyeva stressed that nothing can harm friendly relations between the Azerbaijani and Turkish peoples.

In his turn, Yildirim expressed gratitude for the invitation to the 6th Global Baku Forum, saying Azerbaijan is a fraternal and friendly country for Turkey.

Stressing that Azerbaijan and Turkey are one nation, two states, Yildirim said fraternal relations are strengthening year by year.

He added that the large-scale energy and transport projects, which are being implemented, intensify economic power and serve to bring the two countries closer.

Yildirim stressed the importance of making mutual investments and appreciated the activity of businessmen.

The Turkish prime minister said that in all international organizations Turkey will always support Azerbaijan's fair position on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
