We hope that the vaccine will be delivered to Azerbaijan this month. At least all contracts have been signed. It is beyond our control that the vaccine is being delivered with a slight delay. After that, people will be vaccinated and we will be saved from this disease, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said chairing a meeting in a video format on the country's results of 2020, Trend reports.
“The coronavirus, of course, has put the whole world to a huge test. I think that Azerbaijan is passing this test with dignity. The situation is under full control. As a result of prompt action taken, new hospitals were built and laboratories were acquired. Doctors were mobilized. The salaries of doctors looking after coronavirus patients have been increased, they receive three to five times more now," said the president.
"A very large social package has been introduced. The social package worth several billion manats was provided to help people suffering from coronavirus, including those working informally and the unemployed. We are waiting for the vaccine now,” the head of state said.
