South Caucasus countries need to coordinate to open communications - Pakistani diplomat

TARTAR, Azerbaijan, Oct. 16

By Sadraddin Aghjayev - Trend:

All the countries in the South Caucasus need to cooperate and coordinate to open the blocked economic corridors and communications, which will benefit all the peoples of the region, Moazzam Ali Sahito, deputy head of Pakistani embassy in Azerbaijan told Trend on Oct.16.

Sahito made the remark during a trip of representatives of the diplomatic corps to the Azerbaijani Tartar district’s Sugovushan and Talish settlements liberated from Armenian occupation [in the 2020 Second Karabakh War].

"I hope the situation in the South Caucasus will get better. Connectivity in the South Caucasus is very important. Azerbaijan is doing fast work to open the economic corridors and we support this initiative as well," he said.

The diplomat highly appreciated good speed of reconstruction activities [in the liberated territories].

"There are new roads connecting different villages. Electricity network has been created and other reconstruction activities are ongoing. It shows the country’s government to ensure fast reconstruction. That’s a very positive development. Azerbaijan has been able to liberate its territories," added Sahito.
