BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 1. Armenia has been laying mines in the occupied lands of Azerbaijan for 30 years and today Azerbaijan allocates large funds for the de-mining process, spokesperson of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Leyla Abdullayeva said during panel discussions within the framework of the international conference "Humanitarian demining and sustainable development goals", Trend reports.
The de-mining of Azerbaijan’s liberated territories is one of the priorities of the government, she noted.
"Humanitarian demining is important in terms of ensuring peace, stability and security in the region. Azerbaijan is carrying out large-scale restoration and reconstruction work in the liberated territories. It is important to clear the territories of mines for the safe return of people to their native lands," Abdullayeva said.
