BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 2. Azerbaijan became the most important energy partner for EU countries in 2021, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov told reporters, Trend reports.
"Azerbaijan has become the main exporter of energy resources to the EU countries, as well as oil and petrochemicals to Italy," Bayramov said.
He noted that Italy became the third partner country to import natural gas from Azerbaijan in 2021 when seven billion cubic meters of gas were imported.
The minister added that in general, in 2021, the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Italy amounted to $10 billion.
