BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 5. Relations between Azerbaijan and the Council of Europe are based on mutual respect and understanding, Habib Mikayilli, head of the sector for work with international organizations at the country's Presidential Administration, said, Trend reports.
Mikayilli made the remark at the presentation of the Europe Action Plan for Azerbaijan 2022-2025.
According to him, the Council of Europe can play a special role in confidence-building between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
"International organizations should take into account the changing needs and priorities of the Azerbaijani government, which were formed after the 2020 Second Karabakh War. The issue of demining should be in the spotlight because this problem prevents people from safely returning to their native lands," added the official.
