BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 25. Ties between Azerbaijan and Tajikistan have deep roots, Tajik ambassador Rustam Soli said, Trend reports.
Soli made the remark at a round table dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, organized by the Azerbaijani Center for Analysis of International Relations and the Embassy of Tajikistan.
According to the diplomat, relations between the two countries are based on mutual trust.
"The people of Azerbaijan and Tajikistan have common cultural values. Relations between our countries have deep historical and cultural roots,” he noted. “There is deep trust between Azerbaijan and Tajikistan. The close relations between the leaders of the two countries make an important contribution to the development of interstate ties.”
Soli also noted that in order to develop relations between the state structures of Azerbaijan and Tajikistan, working groups are being created.
"One such working group has already been established. Work is underway to create other working groups. We believe that relations between the two countries will continue to develop," he further said.
Azerbaijan and Tajikistan fruitfully cooperate in the fight against international terrorism, added the ambassador.
