BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 18. Azerbaijani MPs Tural Ganjaliyev, Sevil Mikayilova and Vugar Bayramov met with a delegation led by Tomasz Poreba, a member of the Transport and Tourism Committee of the European Parliament, Trend reports.
MP Tural Ganjaliyev greeted the guests and said that Azerbaijan attaches great importance to relations with the European Parliament. He told Polish MEP Tomasz Poreba and another member of the delegation, Witold de Cheville, about Azerbaijan's relations with European countries, as well as with Poland. He informed the guests about the new realities that have arisen in the region after the 44-day Second Karabakh War, the reconstruction and construction work carried out in the liberated territories, and the return of citizens who became internally displaced during the occupation to their native lands. He stressed that the establishment of sustainable peace in the region, and the opening of communications, including the Zangezur corridor, will make a great contribution to the economic development of the region and the well-being of people.
Tomasz Poreba stressed the importance of holding such visits and meetings to obtain objective information about the realities of the post-war period and the events taking place in the region. He spoke about the importance of strengthening security in the region, opening communications, and touched upon the development of relations between Azerbaijan and Europe, as well as Poland.
At the meeting, MPs Sevil Mikayilova and Vugar Bayramov, Deputy Chairman of the "Return to Karabakh" organization Gulmammad Mammadov spoke about Azerbaijan's initiatives related to the revival of the territories liberated from occupation, the opening of communications and the establishment of cooperation, as well as those related to the normalization of relations with Armenia and the signing of a peace treaty, shared their thoughts on the prospects for the development of relations between Azerbaijan and Europe.
During the conversation, there was also an exchange of views on other issues of interest to the parties.
