Uzbekistan is ready to contribute to the restoration of cultural sites in Karabakh, the Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Political Council of the Movement of Entrepreneurs and Business People - the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan and deputy chairman of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan Aktam Khaitov said during the international conference "Organization of Turkic States: towards new strategic goals in the context of geopolitical realities and global cataclysms" held in Shusha on June 15, Trend reports.

"Shusha is a sacred place, proving that Azerbaijan has restored historical justice by returning the territories of Karabakh. This was the greatest dream of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, a friend of Uzbekistan, and this desire was successfully realized by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev," he said.

Assessing Azerbaijan as a reliable partner of Uzbekistan that has passed the test of time, the guest emphasized that Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan are friendly countries with a common language and traditions.

"Friendly and trusting relations between the heads of state of both countries contribute to the expansion of our cooperation.

Under the leadership of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attention is paid to further improvement of people's welfare, strengthening of sovereignty, the political, economic, and military power of the country, as well as strengthening of its international prestige. We, as brothers and close friends, sincerely rejoice at these achievements of the Azerbaijani people.

The head of our state has repeatedly stated that Uzbekistan is ready to contribute to the restoration of cultural sites in Karabakh. Thus, last year in Fuzuli, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, together with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, attended the opening ceremony of Mirzo Ulugbek School No. 1, built with the support of Uzbekistan. We are confident that the school has become a symbol of sincere friendship," he added.
