BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 9. President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree on the creation of the Electronic Competition Information System, Trend reports.

According to the decree, the system will facilitate the reception and processing of consumer and market subject applications (petitions) related to competition and consumer protection. It will also enable real-time receipt of required documents or information from other state bodies (institutions), presentation of decisions and information electronically, and user access to relevant information.

The Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan assumes the role of system owner, while the State Service for Antimonopoly and Control Over Consumer Market under the Ministry of Economy of the Azerbaijan Republic acts as the operator. Expenses for establishing and maintaining the system will be covered by the extra-budgetary revenues of the State Service for Antimonopoly and Control Over Consumer Market under the Ministry of Economy of the Azerbaijan Republic.

The Cabinet of Ministers is to draft and submit a regulation on the system to the President of the Azerbaijan Republic within six months.

The Ministry of Economy is tasked with establishing the system within the same timeframe.

The Ministry of Digital Development and Transportation of Azerbaijan, under the Government Cloud (G-cloud) concept, will host the system.

Furthermore, the State Service for Special Communication and Information Security of Azerbaijan will provide secure telecommunication channels for the system and oversee security criteria. Together with the owner and operator, they will implement necessary measures to ensure its information security.
