BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 12. A group of personnel of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan has visited the Second Alley of Martyrs on the occasion of the 4th anniversary of the Tovuz battles, Trend reports via the ministry.
The memory of martyrs was honored by observing a minute of silence, and the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, accompanied by the military orchestra, was performed.
Flowers were laid on the graves of the sons of the motherland, who ascended to the heights of martyrdom, and tribute was paid to their memory.
The event focused on the martyrs' eternal memory and underlined that their blessed legacy will always be honored.
To recall, on July 12, 2020, the Armenian armed forces launched an unexpected artillery attack towards the Tovuz region of the Azerbaijan-Armenia state border with the intention of capturing Azerbaijan's positions. This action flagrantly violated the ceasefire agreement. The enemy suffered significant damage as a consequence of the retaliatory actions carried out by the courageous Azerbaijani Army. The Tovuz clashes continued until July 17, making Azerbaijan suffer the loss of 21 individuals.
