BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 17. We can hold discussions and find solutions to problems through this congress, the Foreign Minister of New Caledonia Mickael Forrest said, Trend reports.
He made the announcement at the first congress with the participation of leaders of more than 15 political parties and movements for the independence of Corsica, Melanesia, Polynesia, a group of Caribbean and Antilles islands suffering from French colonialism, held in Baku with the organizational support of the Baku Initiative Group.
“Such an opportunity was provided to us by the Baku Initiative Group. We have to appreciate this opportunity. We have a political goal that must be achieved. We must contribute to the establishment of a new world order and find our place in it. We have the right to absolute sovereignty,” he said.
To note, the Baku Initiative Group was established on July 6, 2023, in Baku by the participants of the conference "Total Elimination of Colonialism" within the framework of the ministerial meeting of the Coordinating Bureau of the Non-Aligned Movement under the chairmanship of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The Baku Initiative Group has already organized about 15 international conferences.
