SHUSHA, Azerbaijan, July 22. Panel discussions themed "Climate action and media" have been held within the 2nd Shusha Global Media Forum on the topic “Exposing false narratives: combating disinformation," Trend reports.

The discussions moderated by host of "Riga TV24" and "Latvijas Radio" Ansys Bogustovs were attended by the Arabian Gulf Business Insight Editor-at-Large Francis Martin Kane, Executive Director of the Berliner Zeitung Newspaper Holger Friedrich, UN Climate Change High-Level Champion for COP29 Nigar Arpadaray, and UK Energy Security Specialist John Roberts.

The discussions pointed out that climate change is a serious issue, and journalists must be attentive to this matter, balancing interests while ensuring the well-being of humanity, emphasizing the necessity for journalists covering environmental issues to have substantial experience.

Additionally, the discussions mentioned that media outlets should have a deep understanding of environmental problems and report them to the public appropriately.

The Second Shusha Global Media Forum was attended by 150 foreign guests from 49 countries, including news agencies from 34 countries, 12 international organizations and media entities, as well as 60 heads and representatives of Azerbaijani media.

The final day of the 2nd Shusha Global Media Forum is being held on the topic “Exposing false narratives: combating disinformation," Trend reports.

This day will feature two panel discussions.

The panel discussions themed "The impact of artificial intelligence on reality, media, and disinformation: promoting media literacy" will be held.

Then, at the forum's fourth and final panel, participants will exchange views on the topic "The climate movement and media," moderated by Ansis Bogustovs, a host and producer from "Riga TV24" and "Latvijas Radio".

Additionally, the Deputy Minister of Energy of Azerbaijan, the CEO of COP29, Elnur Soltanov, will give a presentation on the topic "Solidarity for a Green World - COP29".

Furthermore, at the request of the Baku Initiative Group, there will be a presentation of the report "The evolution of french colonialism: a political and constitutional study" written by renowned UN expert Carlyle Corbin (US).
