BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 25. A new round of political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan has taken place in Tashkent, a source in the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told Trend.

According to the source, the delegation of Azerbaijan was led by Deputy Foreign Minister Samir Sharifov, and the Uzbek delegation - by his counterpart Bobur Usmanov.

The consultations deliberated issues of mutual interest in political, economic, transport, cultural, humanitarian, and other spheres and exchanged views on cooperation within international and regional organizations.

The event particularly emphasized that the development of relations between the two fraternal countries, which share common historical roots, language, religion, and traditions, is based on strong political will and joint practical efforts by the heads of state.

Moreover, the consultations highly appreciated the level of strategic partnership relations based on principles of mutual trust and respect, noting that increasing contacts at high and senior levels contribute significantly to bilateral relations.

The consultations also underscored that Azerbaijan hosting the 29th Session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) demonstrates the country's growing international influence.

Additionally, the political consultations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan saw the exchange of opinions on the treaty, legal framework, and ongoing projects, as well as an inventory of documents signed between the two countries.
