BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 31. The period allotted for candidates to conduct a campaign for the extraordinary parliamentary election in Azerbaijan, scheduled for September 1, has ended, Trend reports.

A "Day of Silence" has been declared in Azerbaijan ahead of the parliamentary election.

According to the Calendar Plan of the Main Actions and Events for the Preparation and Conduct of the Early Parliamentary Election in Azerbaijan, the election campaign of candidates begins 23 days before the voting day and concludes 24 hours before voting starts.

Thus, the official campaign period for the snap parliamentary election commenced on August 9, 2024, and will conclude on August 31, 2024, at 08:00 (GMT +4).

On June 28, President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree dissolving the sixth convocation of the Azerbaijani Parliament and calling for an extraordinary election.

The snap parliamentary election in Azerbaijan is scheduled for September 1, 2024.
