BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 16. The tally of views through webcams keeping an eye on the voting during the snap parliamentary election in Azerbaijan hit a whopping 570,049, more than doubling the figures from the 2020 parliamentary election, Trend reports.
The issue was discussed during today's meeting of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, CEC Chairman Mazahir Panahov pointed out that the surge in election observers via webcams speaks volumes about their effectiveness in the electoral process.
The snap parliamentary election was held in Azerbaijan on September 1.
A total of 112,749 local observers were registered, including over 65,000 representatives of political parties. There were 598 international observers from 51 organizations and 69 countries.
Among the 990 registered candidates, 305 represented 25 political parties, while 371 were party members but were not nominated by their parties. In total, 676 candidates were affiliated with political parties.
