BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 14. The issue of the criminal case of the attack on the Azerbaijani Embassy in Tehran will remain at the center of attention until the legal processes are fully implemented, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said at the meeting with Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev and his accompanying delegation in Tehran, Trend reports.
According to him, the development of relations with Azerbaijan is crucial for Iran.
Moreover, it was noted that Iran welcomes the development of ties in the field of transportation between the two countries, also wishing to continue and develop cooperation in the fields of energy and agriculture.
“Iran is committed to the agreements reached in this field,” Pezeshkian emphasized.
He added that new countries entering the region will not benefit them.
“The countries of the region can solve security and other issues themselves by cooperating. This is Iran's principled policy, and it consistently adheres to it, as the Iranian President noted.
Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev pointed out at the meeting that Azerbaijan is also ready to develop cooperation with Iran in the fields of economy, trade, culture, transit, the improvement of joint road and railway lines, security, and defense.
He added that discussions between the countries in the region can solve regional problems.
Mustafayev invited the Iranian President to the upcoming COP29 in Baku.
