SOLUTION TO NAGORNO-KARABAKH CONFLICT TO BE FOUND IN NEAR 5-10 YEARS

“The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is part of a great political and its resolution mostly depends on the results of strategic fight between Russ and the United States,” Azer Mursaliyev, the Russian expert, head of the Foreign Policy Department of Russian-based Kommersant newspaper.

According to the Russian expert, two rival forces are felt in all conflict regions in post-Soviet area. В"If the Unites States supports Georgia, then Russia assists Abkhazia and South Osetia. If Washington and NATO come closer to Baku, Moscow develops the active relationships with Yerevan, re-dislocating to Armenia part of its arms withdrawn from Georgia,” he said.

According to Mursaliyev, the last event in Ukraine, Georgia and Kyrgyzstan essentially changed the force balance in the territory of the former Soviet Union, which enables to assert that the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict will be also resolved in the near prospect.

В"The resolution of the probe cannot be delayed to infinity,В" the expert underlined. One of the players of вЂgreat game’ will have to leave the region. В"It is dealt with 5-10 years, as the participants of the game will not have enough resources,” he said, marking the current strategic priority of the United States.

Commenting on the statements on possible bar by Russia on the passage of Azerbaijani vessels from the Black Sea to the Caspian, the Russian expert said it was economic, but political issue. В"It is one of the means of pressure of Moscow on Baku and such statements surely have political color,” Mursaliyev resumed.

On 13 July spokesman for the Caspian Shipping Company of Azerbaijan, Vugar Mirsadig, told Trend that the Russian government did not allow the passage of the Azerbaijani ships in internal water of Russia.

"At present over 20 vessels function in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov. We cannot receive order for deliveries in the Caspian due to this problem. However, it will not affect on the functioning of the Azerbaijani vessels, as they work in different directions,” Mirsadig said.
