23 876 entrants out of 100,000 were admitted to universities of Azerbaijan,Maleyka Abbasszada, the chairman of the State Commission on Student Admission, said to a news-conference on results of the entrance examinations on 10 August, Trend reports.
According to Abbasszada, 83 % of vacant places were occupied with 97% of free and paid places at the state universities, and 45% of paid places at the private universities. 4909 places are vacant and admission of documents to these places will be held from 12 to 16 August.
Number of the entrants gained high level (600 points and more) comprised 1050 people. Graduates of the Turkish lyceums and secondary schools of Baku, Ganja and Sumgayit demonstrated good result.
According to Abbasszada, the State Commission on Student Admission also starts admission to specialized secondary schools. The admission will be held on base of points. The entrants gained over 50 points can hand in an application.
