The participation of representatives of the US-based National Democracy Institute (NDI) in the forthcoming parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan is still to be resolved, while there is no obstacle in this way, Elmar Mammadyarov, the Azerbaijan Foreign Minister, told Trend.
Mammadyarov noted that during the visit to Washington he held meetings with different non-governmental organizations, including the NDI representatives.
В"Representatives of NDI voiced their will to participate in the elections on 6 November,вЂќ Mammadyarov stressed, noting the necessity of an appeal by the relevant organizations.
В"We send invitations only to international organizations,В" FM underlined. They have been sent to UN, the CE and OSCE, he added.
В"The CE and OSCE have given positive reply to an invitation. As to UN, it is too early speak about it, while Azerbaijan hopes to receive positive reply,вЂќ Mammadyarov underlined.
