MARSHALL CENTER SCHEDULES CASPIAN BASIN ENERGY SECURITY CONFERENCE

More than 50 energy security experts from 10 nations plus NATO will gather here to address issues related to inter-agency and regional coordination, disaster response, and other institutional challenges at the Conference on Energy Security in the Caspian Basin in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany Sept. 26 - 28.

Office of the Secretary of Defense - Eurasia Initiative in conjunction with the U.S. European Command the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies are sponsoring the conference to help spur cooperation between Western European and Caspian countries.

Presentations by subject matter experts will be followed by moderated question and answer sessions, panel discussion and table-top exercises.

Participants and observers are expected from Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Kazakhstan, the Netherlands, Norway, Slovenia, Turkey, the United Kingdom, NATO and the U.S. Departments of State, Defense and Energy, academia, private industry and consulting.
