HEAD OF OSCE OBSERVATION MISSION ELABORATES ON THEIR ACTIVITIES

The head of the OSCE Observation Bureau on Human Rights and Democratic Establishments, Gert Arens, held a news conference on Thursday. Alens noted that 43-member mission comprises only 11 observers, while the rest are specialists on elections.

He also noted that the mission set up its activities on 5 September and was currently involved in analysis of media. Arens stated that the number of observers will grow from 11 to 16 shortly.

500 OSCE observers will observe the elections on the elections day. Embers of three international organizations вЂ" the OSCE, the Council of Europe and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) - joined the mission.

He added that the observers to arrive in Azerbaijan at the invitation of the Azerbaijani government will implement only observation over the elections, their coincidence to OSCE commitments, as well as to the international norms and Azerbaijani legislation and give general estimation to election process.

According to Arens, the mission will develop the first report on elections on 7 November вЂ" a day after voting. The final and full report containing the results of voting will be ready within several days.
