“The economic development of then regions is the focus of the President,” MP Hadi Rajabli, the chairman of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) Standing Commission on Social Policy, told Trend.
Rajabli also noted that the critical speeches of the leaders of �Azadlig’ (Freedom) election bloc on the economic development of the regions were baseless. “They use general words, as they are not economists. The program on economic development of regions was approved by the leadership of the country. The President issued some decrees in this regard and some work was made in the regions,” he added.
Rajabli touched upon the measures taken in Lankaran, where he was candidate. He reported that the construction of international stadium, international airport, tourist centers, milk enterprise is index of the economic development. “The figures mentioned by �Azadlig’ leaders on economic development are fantasy,” he underlined.
In his televised speech, Ali Karimli, the chairman of the Popular Front of Azerbaijan Party (PFAP-reformers) including in the bloc, stressed that the economic development of the regions was paralyzed.
