The program of the visit of the UNESCO Good Will Ambassador Mehriban Aliyeva, the first lady of Azerbaijan to Paris for the jubilee celebrations on the occasion of the UNESCO 60-th anniversary is under preparations, the Azerbaijan’s representative to UNESCO Eleonora Huseynova told Trend exclusively.
According to her, in regard to the anniversary date on 16, 17 and 18 November a number of events will be held in Paris, one of which will be the colloquium dedicated to the UNESCO history. In the colloquium official opening on 16 November the UNESCO former Directors, Good Will Ambassadors, presidents of some countries, as well as prominent political and public figures, scholars, representatives of intelligentsia will take part.
In the evening of the same day a grand ceremony on the occasion of the organizations’ anniversary will take place. Performance of musical groups from Azerbaijan is also included in the concert program, Huseynova said. According to her, the Azerbaijan State Symphony Orchestra will also perform at the concert with the new musical piece of the known Azerbaijani composer, conductor and pianist Firangiz Alizade, “The intersecting ways”.
The first lady of Azerbaijan received invitation for this event as a Good Will Ambassador of the Organization, Huseynova noted with the hope the visit will take place. According to her, the program of her meetings with the Organization’s top officials, including the UNESCO Director General Koishiro Matsuura is also under preparation. During these meetings the perspectives of the bilateral large-scale cooperation of Azerbaijan with the organization, which is implemented under the direct initiative and involvement of the UNESCO Good will Ambassador Mehriban Aliyeva will be discussed, Huseynova underlined.
