Oppositional rally passed

The oppositional rally on 26 November commenced on the Galaba square at 15.30 p.m. The deputy chairman of the Musavat party Arif Hadjili opened the action, Trend reports.

In their speeches the chairmen of the Musavat party Isa Gambar, of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA), reformists, Ali Kerimli, a leader of the National Unity Movement Lala-Shovket Hadjiyeva and other blamed the authorities for falsifications of the parliamentary elections. After Ali Kerimli’s call the protestors held a one-minute sit-in action.

The head of the OSCE Baku office Mauricio Pavesi and the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Azerbaijan, Lowrence Bristow watched the action.

The deputy head of the Yasamal district police Chingiz Mammadov has not produced any reports on the number of demonstrators. According to Hadjily, over 40,000 people were involved in the rally.
