“In 1998 the idea of consolidation of opposition in the united center belonged to Abulfaz Elchibay [the former Azerbaijani President], not Ali Karimly [the chairman of the Popular Front of Azerbaijan Party (reformers)],” Mirmahmud Miralioglu, the chairman of the Popular Front of Azerbaijan (PFAP-classiscs), told Trend.

It should be mentioned that Karimly did not exclude the consolidation of the opposition at a news conference held on Firday.

Miralioglu mentioned that implementation of the issue was impossible. “There is no anything of new in raising of the issue by Karimly, but it is impossible to work with him in one party due to his personnel ambitions,” he added. Miralioglu stressed that the idea may be carried out by other representatives of the opposition.
