100 % of voters, the citizens of Kazakhstan currently residing in Azerbaijan, voted for current President Nursultan Nazarbayev in the poll held at the Kazakh embassy in Baku last weekend (4 December,” Andar Shukputov, the Kazakh Ambassador to Azerbaijan, told a news conference dedicated to results of the polling.
According to Shukputov, the polling station in embassy was organized for employees of the embassy and their family members, as well as citizens of Kazakhstan temporarily residing in Azerbaijan. All 63 voters supported Nazarbayev in the poll, Tren reports.
According to Nazarbayev, as of initial data provided by the CEC of Kazakhstan,Nazarbayev gained the majority of votes (over 91%). The official results of the polls will be announced within 10 days, the diplomat underlined.
The rest candidates collected from 0.38% to 6.64% of the vote. Shukputov said that the results of exit-poll also testify for Nazarbayev’s victory with 83% of all votes. The Ambassador explained Nazarbayev’s victory with his successful political and economic policy, as well as level of welfare of the nation.
According to Shukputov, the inauguration was scheduled for 10 January with the heads of state and governments from many countries, including Azerbaijan.
