The forthcoming years will become the period of revival for Azerbaijan, the president of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said in a statement during the ceremony of the national currency, Manat, new design presentation on 28 December 2005, Trend reports.
The head of the state noted, starting with 1996 the average tempo of the Azerbaijan’s national economy development was 10% annually and introduction of the new currency into circulation under such conditions is very important.
В"By the tempo of economic development Azerbaijan took the first place in the world in 2005. For today Azerbaijan is on the eve of the rapid economic development. Solid economic basis exists in the country. Reforms which have been carried out by today strengthened more the national economy”, Ilham Aliyev said.
The head of the state noted, in previous years the main investment flow came from abroad, today the economic growth enables to extend the volume of the large-scale domestic investments.
В"A new design of Manat means not only modification of the national currency. It is manifestation of the Azerbaijan’s economic growth, president added stressing, all economic reforms carried out for the last years by the country’s authorities were successful.
According to the president, thanks to reforms started in 1990s, Azerbaijan turned into economically advanced state in the region.
Ilham Aliyev noted, preserving of macro-economic stability is very important for the country and the strategy and policy of the National Bank of Azerbaijan played the big role in it.
According to Ilham Aliyev, implementation of large regional projects, carrying out measures on establishing strong infrastructure, enhancement of the population’s well-being and etc. are planned in the coming future.
