ANIP chairman appeals to police departemt for ptotetcion from dissatisfied party members

The chairman of the Azerbaijani National Independence Party (ANIP) has appealed o the head of the Central Police Department of Baku, Maherram Aliyev, Trend reports quoting the party leader as stating to a news conference on Monday.

He said that following the last negative events within the ANIP he decided to appeal to the law-enforcement bodies with request to ensure his security. Aliyev fears of actions by some party members dissatisfied with him.

Aliyev is also planning to the Nasimi district police precinct with request to ensure his security. The chairman of the ANIP also said that the meeting organized by a group of member of the Central Board on 8 January without his participation was illegitimate. Aliyev said that the meeting of the central board that he convened was held legally with participation of 51 people and presence of necessary quorum. He noted the meeting elected the new Political Board comprised of 8 people.
