The chairman and secretaries of the Central Election Committee (CEC) are due to be elected during 5 days after formation of the new Committee, Natig Mammadov, a member of CEC, told Trend.
Mammadov noted that he was satisfied with the new comparison of CEC. The opposition will be in minority in the new Committee until the by-elections, but it will not have any negative impact on the further activities of CEC. There is a quorum in CEC. Therefore, no problem will arouse in making of any decision, Mammadov stressed.
The Elections Code does not require representation of opposition at CEC. It requires representation of the forces, being in majority and minority in Parliament, at CEC, Mammadov underlined. In world practice committees are not formed from political parties, but professionals.
