Igdir [Turkish province] will always support Azerbaijan. Discussion of opening the borders with Armenia is out of question, as the situation contradicts the Azerbaijans interests, Nuraddin Aras, the head of the municipality of the Igdir province bordering with Armenia, told Trend.

Our position on this issue remained the same as it was 10 years ago. The Azerbaijani territories are under the occupation of Armenia and 1m Azerbaijanis are refugees. Nevertheless, Armenia indicates 11 Turkish provinces as its own in the map, put forward territorial claims, call on their people to struggle for these territories. We cannot agree to open the borders at all, Aras underlined.

We will be able think of opening the border only in case of achievement of agreement up to the Azerbaijans interests, he stressed.
