MP Rustamkhanli protests against destruction of historic monuments and construction of many-storey buildings in their places

A process of destruction of building regarded as historic monuments of Baku must be ceased, MP Sabir Rustamkhanly, the chairman of the Civil Solidarity Party, told Trend.

20-30 buildings in the center of Baku indicate to great architectural traditions dating to early 20th century. Every of them is a historic monument. The destruction of the monuments and construction of 15-20-storey buildings can be a threat to our history. He reminded of the poor situation at the German embassy and around the Fountain Square.

Rustamkhanly particularly noted the construction work in Icherisheher (Old City), which is regarded as an historic monument.
